The Gallery of West Indian Art is a beautiful display of the environment, scenery, and culture of the West Indies. Located in the suburb of Catherine Hall, Montego Bay this unique gallery is significantly smaller than the National Gallery but just as vibrant and colourful. On display are pieces from all over the Caribbean but mostly art from Haiti, Jamaica, and Cuba. The gallery features artwork from renowned West Indian artists including Albert Atwell from Jamaica, Andre Pierre from Haiti, and Cuba’s own Orestes Gaulhiac. The pieces range from a variety of paintings, hand-crafted animals, masks, and hand-made jewellery. Founded 40 years ago by Liz de Lisser there are now two retail outlets in Montego Bay.
