Some of Jamaica’s best beaches are in Portland. One of the most beautiful and increasingly rare public beach is Winnifred beach. Located a few kilometres east of Port Antonio after the right at Mikuzi Guest House is the road to Winnifred. A day at Winnifred beach is relaxing under a large almond tree on white sand and gazing out at multiple shades of warm blue waters. This beautiful stretch on the coast is a great way to soak up the sun and culture as well as food and cold drinks. Locals consider Winnifred to be the best public beach on the island and many unwind there on the weekend. As the only public beach in Port Antonio donations are welcomed. The requested donation is for parking but access to the beach is free. These funds contribute to the upkeep and accessibility of the beach.
