On a visit to Jamaica’s capital city Kingston, the National Gallery is usually the first place to appreciate memorizing art. But through narrow roads at 41 Fleet Street or just Fleet Street is another kind of art. Fleet Street is a community initiative showcasing amazing art with a cause. What started as an abandoned warehouse, is now the site of Paint Jamaica, a street-art movement beautifying the walls of Fleet Street and demystify the stigma surrounding the area. The brightly coloured murals extend outside the walls of 41 Fleet Street unto the walls of the nearby Primary school and the houses in the community.

The larger-than-life murals reveal an incredible art scene in the city capital and travelling artists from all over the word go there to paint their own murals. Fleet Street is where you get to appreciate art and see first-hand the resilience of people. It shows a side of the island that is rarely seen. Across the street is Life Yard, the first inner-city sustainable farm in the area. They have a big, green garden with a hostel to chill and enjoy I-tal food and fresh juices.
