Elevated above the north coast is Firefly, the former home of Noel Coward. He originally fell in love with the area while visiting his good friend Ian Flemming in 1948. Coward eventually built a simple property that he would name Firefly, after the glowing creatures that filled the property at nights. Firefly became the enchanting winter home for the songwriter, actor, and playwright. Life at Firefly revolved around the studio, drawing room, pool, and open dining room that entertained famous friends and royalty.

On display in his studio are his original oil paintings from classes with Winston Churchill and photographs of his select famous friends. The drawing room with the spread still in tact, entertained the Queen Mother and Audrey Hepburn for lunch and drinks. Firefly offers a remarkable view of Jamaica’s north coast and is open for tours of the picture gallery, house, and garden. Finish the tour with drinks at the spot named after Captain Henry Morgan who preceded Coward. Noel Coward lies buried in the garden on the property that entertained many illustrious stars. Today, Firefly is owned and managed by Chris Blackwell who restored the property after it fell into disrepair.
