Craighton Coffee Estate is a 200 year old coffee plantation and Great House in cool Blue Mountain. The house is believed to be built in 1805 and named after its first owner, George Craighton. Ueshima, one of the biggest exporters of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee to Japan bought Craighton House and Craighton Estate in 1981 and re-established the crop there. A knowledgeable guide will explain the history of coffee production in Jamaica on a one-hour tour of the property. The tour will explore the working coffee farm and historic great house and how the coffee is grown and processed. It concludes with a coffee-tasting session.
To get to Craighton Estate take the Papine route to Irish Town. Craighton Estate will be on the right-hand side, shortly after passing Strawberry Hill on your left.
