The Trident castle is the only castle in the Caribbean. Built in the late 1970s for German Baroness Elizabeth Siglindy Stephan von Thyssen the castle resembles a giant wedding cake. Ten minutes drive east of Port Antonio Trident sits on 7-acres of land. It boasts 8 bedrooms and lavish amenities including a Romanesque pool, private chapel, and helicopter pad. Guests can also enjoy deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, or the two tennis courts. The area was once used to ‘corral’ turtles in pens and provided protection for pirate ships in the 16th and 18th centuries. Trident’s opulent appearance makes it a popular choice for weddings and video shoots.

Now owned by Jamaican billionaire, Michael Lee Chin, Trident Castle is a weekend home but can be rented out for special occasions. This means it is not open to the public but is a sight to behold from a far.
