A visit to Tacky Falls is one of those non-commercialized back-to-nature adventures. There is no tourist crowd, no facilities, no souvenir shops and food stands. This pristine spot is a secluded dream but requires some effort to navigate especially when it rains. The terrain to access the falls is slippery and steep and requires decent shoes and some hiking gear.  The hike to Tacky Falls is a little over 30 minutes but your guide or locals will direct you. The 40ft falls drops in two tiers and cascades into a natural swimming pool. It can easily be an all-day affair with food, music, games, and a dip in the pool.

The small, remote falls located in Islington, St. Mary teems with beauty and history. Tacky Falls is named after the slave who inspired and led a series of island wide rebellions in 1760. It is said that this is where Tacky hid to carry out his very successful revolts. Hiking to Tacky Falls starts a little beyond the Zion Hill United Church which is the closest point accessible by vehicles.
