The National Pantomime is an annual production that puts the colourful customs and trends of the Jamaican society on display. The production is hosted at Jamaica’s longest surviving theatre house, Little Theatre. The show opens on December 26 (Boxing Day) and continues through to May the following year. Especially during the Christmas holidays, families and friends look forward to attending the Pantomime. If you’re on island at this time, the pantomime is an entertaining and educational way to learn about Jamaican culture. The 2019 edition was a light-hearted, fun, and family friendly satirical interpretation of the Windrush generation. Titled ‘All Aboard Fi Di Windy Rush’, the story was crafted around the migration rush to post-war Britain. Apart from the annual Pantomime, the Little Theatre also hosts other performance shows throughout the year. Call the theatre house for more information.
