LIME CAY

Approximately 2 miles south of the infamous Port Royal is the uninhabited island Lime Cay. The picture perfect white sand beach kissed by the Caribbean Sea is ideal for snorkelling, sunbathing, and day parties. A short boat ride from Morgan’s Harbour at Port Royal gets you to this hidden gem. Although there’s no formal transportation to Lime Cay Morgan’s Harbour Yatch Marina runs regular trips. If not, you can negotiate a round-trip ride with one of fishermen in Port Royal. Lime Cay is a popular weekend beach getaway for city folks from Kingston but during the week it is virtually empty. This means stock up on cold drinks and snacks because you may have the island all to yourself. There’s plenty of shade and even some picnic benches but there are no changing facilities.
