Sprawling over 200 acres of land Hope Gardens was originally part of ‘Hope Estate’. These lands originally owned by Richard Hope make the ideal oasis in the midst of the bustling city life. In 1881, the Government of Jamaica bought it to establish an experimental garden. This experimental garden became what is known as Hope Gardens. Situated in the Liguanea Plains, on the way to Papine Square, the gardens is the largest green area in Kingston. It’s spacious lawns, various species of exotic flowers, and towering palm trees is a breath of fresh air. The vast grounds also include the sunken gardens, greenhouse, other mini gardens, ponds, and a zoo. The gardens is open to public to enjoy nature’s display and is the perfect backdrop for a picnic, an event, or creative inspiration.
