Lovers of history and antiques will love this well-preserved Georgian-styled, 25-room mansion. Greenwood Great House is a 19th century relic of plantation life that commands a panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea. The great house was built 200 years ago after its owners, the Barrett Family, amassed a fortune from their sugar plantation. Today, its current owners, Bob and Anne Betton have spent considerable time restoring the house to its former grandeur. The great house now has on display the best collection of colonial-era antique furniture in Jamaica.

Greenwood Great House still has its original library of 300+ books, including some rare 1st editions dating back to 1697. There’s also a rare collection of musical instruments, including an inlaid rosewood piano that belonged to King Edward VII. Other interesting pieces are the Flemish thrones, a portrait of poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s cousin, and a 1626 map of Africa. After exploring the rich history of the time, relax and enjoy the view from the upper balcony.
